Owner / Registered Dental Hygienist

Born and raised in Thunder Bay, I have been a dedicated registered dental hygienist for over 20 years. Recognizing a gap in accessible oral care within my community, I launched Carolyn Weiss Mobile Dental Hygiene Services in 2017, bringing professional dental hygiene services directly to homes, long-term care facilities and hospitals.

Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to connect with many individuals within my community and contribute to advancing oral health knowledge.

This journey has included co-authoring and publishing numerous oral health articles. In 2024, I proudly co-authored Chapter 52 of the international textbook Darby and Walsh Dental Hygiene Theory and Practice (6th Edition), focusing on palliative dental hygiene oral care and many speaking engagements with allied health professions.

My provincial involvement as chair of the LTC Advisory Committee with the ODHA has reinforced my connection to provincial and national colleagues to strengthen common goals.

Passionate about my profession, I am committed to sharing my expertise and promoting oral health awareness.

Outside of work, I cherish time with my family, exploring the outdoors, engaging in fitness activities, and relaxing at camp with a good book.

Before joining us in this crucial role, she spent 20 years as a Registered Dental Hygienist, cultivating a deep understanding of patient care and attention to detail. That experience translates seamlessly into her management style, fostering a supportive and efficient environment for both our team and our clients.

I was born and raised as a strong Metis woman in Rainy River, Treaty 3, in our beautiful Northwestern Ontario.

I have spent the last 20 years working as a registered dental hygienist, providing oral health education and applying my skill set to help improve oral health and total body health for my clients.

I love spending time outside with my 2 daughters and our pup Chelsea. A little sunshine an time on the water are always good for the soul.

I am a proud Anishinaabe member of Fort Willian First Nation and a compassionate and dedicated Registered Dental Hygienist. I have over 10 years of experience practicing since 2014.

I am committed to delivering culturally sensitive care and promoting healthy smiles through my work with the Matawa community. Through my passion and advocacy for oral health, I empower individuals and communities to prioritize their oral wellness. I value the importance of building relationships and trust in my approach to oral health care.

We are thrilled to welcome our newest team member, Janet. She has been providing exceptional dental hygiene care for 39 years, and her dedication to patient comfort and education is truly outstanding.

Janet’s extensive career includes her part time position as a clinical demonstrator at Confederation College, sharing her insight and knowledge with dental hygiene students.
